Sumitomo Electric Industries is one of Japan's leading manufacturers of optical fiber and fiber optic test equipment. The FDT series is their fiber identifier line, used to determine which fiber in a bundle is live without cutting or disconnecting it - an essential tool for maintenance work on in-service networks.

This FDT-LS unit combines three functions in one instrument: fiber identification, optical power measurement, and locating the position of a splice or fault. It works at 1310 nm and 1550 nm and includes a mini light source for fiber tracing (the LS in the model name). The power meter accepts SC connectors. The set includes four interchangeable heads - R, R13, C2 and PM - so it can be adapted to different fiber and cable types.

A capable, professional-grade instrument for fiber network installation and maintenance. Supplied with its manual, four heads, a light-shielding sheet, and the original carrying case.

Included accessories: instruction manual, 4 heads (R / R13 / C2 / PM), light-shielding sheet, and storage case. Please note the unit has not been recalibrated prior to sale, and a calibration certificate cannot be provided.

Condition

  • Used - operation confirmed - Operation has been confirmed by the seller and the unit is in good working order. There is a missing section on the rear of the housing (see photographs), but this does not affect operation. The unit shows cosmetic wear typical of a used instrument, including minor scratches and sticker marks; it has been lightly cleaned. No calibration has been performed and no calibration certificate is available - if you require a calibrated instrument, please do not purchase. As this is a used item, please understand that it will not be in as-new condition.
