The TOPBUXUS Box Tree Moth Trap helps you monitor Box Tree Moth activity in your garden, so you know exactly when to act. Simply assemble the trap according to the instructions on the box and hang it in your garden near your Box plants.

Place 1 pheromone capsule in the basket in the lid of the trap at the beginning of the season, around the third week of May. Only use one capsule at a time, store the second capsule in the refrigerator or freezer until it is needed. Halfway through the season, in the last week of July, the first capsule will have expired, at this point you replace it with the fresh capsule you stored earlier. This way, the trap remains effective for the entire season.

Male moths are attracted by the pheromone and get caught in the trap. Once you spot the first moths, this is your signal that Box tree caterpillars will follow. Two weeks after this first sighting, it is recommended to treat your Box plants with a Bacillus Thuringiensis product. This way, you can control Box tree caterpillars in a simple, effective, and environmentally friendly way.

Pheromone capsules have a shelf life of 2 years when stored in the refrigerator, or an unlimited shelf life when stored in the freezer.
