This Concave Bottom Spokeshave is a better and more efficient choice than a flat-bottom spokeshave for creating consistent outside curves on pieces such as dowels or chair spindles. Using this tool, you can quickly shape square timber into a perfectly round rod. The curved handles provide a steady grip with excellent control, allowing the spokeshave to be pushed or pulled for different cutting techniques.

The blade measures 2-1/8” inches wide by 2-1/8 inches long and 0.080 inches thick, with an arc ground to a 1-5/8 inch radius. The sole also has a similar 1-5/8 inch radius. The blade depth is adjustable via a single set screw. The blade will require final honing before use.
