This listing is for a vintage Navajo necklace handcrafted from Sterling Silver, Olive Shell Heishi Beads, and a 1922 Peace Dollar.

This substantial hand crafted necklace is in beautiful vintage condition. All of the pearls and melon beads look to be in perfect shape with no dents or opened seams. The necklace is strung on a sturdy braided foxtail chain with a hook and eye clasp at each end. The last bead on each side is soldered to the clasp adding strength and stability to the necklace.

The pendant features a 1922 Peace Dollar surrounded by rows of Olive Shell Heishi beads. The coin and heishi beads rest within a large round bezel that slightly curls inward at the top edge. It’s a very thick and solid pendant weighing in at over 80 grams. The bail is adjustable which means this listing is actually 2 items….1. A well kept strand of handcrafted bench beads and 2. A Peace Dollar pendant. The pendant can be taken off and worn on another necklace and/or the strand of pearls can be worn alone or with a different pendant of your choosing.

The Artist’s Initials are stamped on the backside of the pendant but, there is no sterling stamp. The silver has been tested and we guarantee the metal content to be .925 sterling silver (with the exception the coin).

• Weight - The pearl necklace alone weighs 39 grams and the pendant alone weighs 84.5 grams. The total weight for both is 123.5 Grams
• Necklace Length - The length measures just under 28” (27.75”) inches long from end to end.
• Pendant Measurements - The pendant measures just over 2-3/4” wide. The Peace Dollar alone measures 1-1/2” wide.
• Bead Measurements - The pearls are handcrafted and range in width from 8mm to 8.5mm. The melon beads measure just a hair under 1” long at 23.5mm.
• Stamped Sterling - NO, (tested and verified .925 sterling silver guaranteed)
• Signed by Artist - YES, Stamped with 3 initials that appear to read NCC, and a picto hallmark of an eye for an unidentified Navajo Artist.
• Cir. - Mid to Later-Mid Century, 1950’s +
