Authentic vintage Muller Volkstedt porcelain ballerina figurine, made in Volkstedt, Thuringia, Germany.
The underside bears the blue crown-over-MV factory mark and “Germany,” associated with the Anton Müller porcelain manufactory operating during the early 20th century. The figurine depicts an elegant ballerina wearing an elaborate pink Dresden-style porcelain lace dress decorated with hand-applied gilt flowers.
The figure is finely hand painted with delicate facial features, a graceful raised-arm pose, gold ballet slippers, floral decoration, and extensive gilt detailing. The layered porcelain lace skirt creates an especially decorative display appearance.
Approximate height: 6 inches.
Vintage condition. No visible cracks or major repairs to the main porcelain figure or base. The very delicate applied lace has scattered chips, broken tips, small losses, and some age-related discoloration or residue. Several applied flowers and petals have minor losses. Light wear is present on the gold decoration and base. Please enlarge and review every photograph, as the photos form an important part of the condition description.
A desirable early German porcelain figurine for collectors of Muller Volkstedt, Dresden lace porcelain, ballet memorabilia, and European decorative arts.
The figurine will be packed with exceptional care, with the delicate skirt fully protected and the item double-boxed for shipment.
