Rebecca Miller — Advance Reading Copy (Uncorrected Proof) — HarperCollins Canada, 2008
Rebecca Miller — daughter of Arthur Miller, wife of Daniel Day-Lewis, and an accomplished filmmaker in her own right — wrote and would go on to direct the film adaptation of this novel, starring Robin Wright, Julianne Moore, Winona Ryder, and Keanu Reeves. Pippa Lee traces one woman's unraveling after a quiet retirement-community move exposes the wilder, more transgressive life she left behind.
This advance proof predates the novel's 2008 publication and carries the "Soon to be a Major Motion Picture" promotional sticker on the cover, issued ahead of the film's 2009 release. A nice pairing of literary and cinematic interest for collectors of either.
