Flying Officer R.P. Beamont joined No.87 Squadron in France which was withdrawn to Debden
and then to Church Fenton. On 5th July 1940 at Exeter for the remainder of the Battle of Britain
Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross on the 6th June 1941
