Genuine vintage Smiths 150 MPH Magnetic Speedometer, model SSM 5001/05, featuring the desirable 1000 TPM (Turns Per Mile) calibration used on a variety of late-1960s British motorcycles.

This original English-made Smiths instrument was removed from a BSA B44 Victor and remains an excellent candidate for restoration. While the gauge is currently non-functional internally, it retains strong cosmetic presentation and would make an ideal rebuild core for a period-correct restoration.

Unlike heavily weathered or incomplete examples, this speedometer retains its original grey face, needle, glass, and housing, providing an excellent foundation for professional rebuilding.

For parts or repair. This is a genuine vintage Smiths speedometer being sold as a rebuildable core. The exterior presents very well for its age, making it an excellent candidate for professional restoration. The grey face dial remains clean and highly legible, the original orange-tipped needle is intact, and the glass lens is presentable with good overall appearance. The chrome bezel shows light age-related wear, minor scuffing, and honest patina consistent with decades of use and storage. Internally, the gauge has a mechanical failure and is currently non-functioning. It will require professional disassembly, repair, and calibration before being returned to service. Because of the internal issue, this speedometer is being sold strictly as a restoration core, parts unit, or display piece.
