Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible authentic vintage Vandesca China of Canada heavy-duty vitrified restaurant ware coffee mug. Produced in 1970 at the historic Vandesca facility in Joliette, Quebec, this classic piece features the iconic single green pinstripe pattern near the rim and the highly desirable flared "Canton" style base.
Vandesca China is legendary for its incredibly thick, durable construction designed to withstand the fast-paced environment of mid-century Canadian diners, railway dining cars, and cafes.
This mug is in exceptional, investment-grade vintage condition and looks like it was barely ever used. No Damage: Absolutely ZERO chips, flea bites, cracks, or hairline fractures anywhere on the rim, handle, or base. Flawless Glaze: There is no crazing (fine glaze cracking) whatsoever. The finish remains smooth, glossy, and bright. Perfect Paint: The iconic green band is 100% complete. There is no missing paint, fading, or rubbing to the stripe color. Clean Base: The bottom stamp is perfectly legible, reading: "VANDESCA China 70 OF CANADA".
