This Jigsaw Puzzle has been confirmed by the present British Jigsaw Puzzle Library to have been retired from their catalogue and was cut by Enid Stocken

Size approximately 19 inches x 23 inches.

Condition. Please read carefully and look at all photographs as they form part of the description. The jigsaw puzzle is sold as seen.

This beautiful jigsaw puzzle is very difficult to complete. There is one poorly executed replacement piece and some broken bits. (The BJPL is a club where in return for a membership fee you can borrow, complete and return Jigsaw puzzles.) It does not have its original box but it does have the generic library one which is in strong condition.

We do not know how old this jigsaw puzzle is but I would guess that it is from the 1950’s. Unfortunately we do not know the artist of the painting.

We have tried to be honest as we can with the photographs and you can see that there is damage such as teeth marks, broken bits etc. However when complete it makes a beautiful picture and due to the difficulty you will feel really accomplished.

I did remember to take a photograph of the whimsies and you can see how skilled the cutter, Enid Stocken was.

Enid’s husband was a pilot in WWII and this is a story recalled by her son.

One night during the war, my father, who was in Transport Command, was flying and, at three in the morning, my mother was waiting up to hear that he had landed safely when the telephone rang. The voice asked whether he was speaking to Mrs Stocken.
