French Line - A Tourist Class deck plan for the CHAMPLAIN that opens to a surprise: color isometric plans a la NORMANDIE.
The plan is dated January 1937 and spreads open to twelve panels and 44". Five decks are shown, illustrated by the same American company that produced NORMANDIE's famous iso-plans. Tourist Class never had it so good!
Too bad Tourist aboard the Cabin liner was restricted to the stern and deep down on D Deck. Many cabins are "Bibby" style with long, narrow passageways leading to a single porthole. The quest for a porthole was taken to extremes on cabins 610 and 648. Besides a very tight squeeze just to get past the two bunks, their access to natural light was a narrow strip that must be 25' long. A note to long ago travel agents: don't book claustrophobics into 648!
Good condition with light wear.
