A practical, highly versatile characterful and well designed Desk / Bureau/ Library desk Bookshelf, strongly inspired by Ambrose Heals designs, produced by Lenthall Bros 'Cabinet Makers' of Britstol, probably around 1920. Brass makers plate to interior. Featuring drop down bureau type front which forms the desk (quality oak desk supports extend as you lower the front. Inside is divided and compartmented with pigeon holes etc, set over 2x drawers with striking metal Art Deco aesthetic pull handles. Either side of which is a bookshelf which form the leg supports either side. 3 shelfs to either side the ideal size for paperbacks etc. Strong angular Art Deco design and form. High attention to detail and very clever design. Quality brass hinges, dovetailed joints etc. Good rich colour and patina. Has Working Lock and Key. Quartersawn oak, solid oak, and oak veneer.

In solid characterful functional condition has been cleaned and waxed. The back panel has been replaced at some point. Lots of general age wear, marks scuffs and patina, some ink stains in places. A few old woodworm traces have been thoroughly treated and wax filled. Please see all photos
