Victorian English Country House Carved Oak Post /  Letter Box

This is a superb Victorian period carved Oak country house letter box, circa late 1800's. The carving is profuse & of excellent quality. Foliate with a lion to the front & a fish scale pattern to the rear. The lid catches look to be original but need fixing back in place

The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
