Victorian Gilt Bronze Heraldic Griffin / Gryphon c.1850

This is a very finely cast gilt bronze desk piece in the form of a seated gryphon, circa mid 1800's. Several British & Irish families included the gryphon in their arms

The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
