This is an original antique 1906 program for the Kearney Opera House in Kearney, Nebraska. This program is four pages measuring about measuring about 8.5” x 11.25”. This program is Vol. 6, No. 1 dated August 22, 1906. The front page has a vignette illustration of the Kearney Opera House. The featured entertainment at the Kearney Opera House was “LeComte & Flesher present Luella Morey in Gordon & Bennet’s Gorgeous Production of Jerusalem or The Holy City by Clarence E. Bennett”
This program has lots of local Kearney advertising. The back cover has advertising for the coming attraction “The Royal Slave”, Union Pacific Railroad, Wright's Hardware and more.
This program is an original from 1906. When the Opera House opened in 1891 it was one of Kearney’s largest and grandest buildings. The Kearney Opera House was located at 21st Street and Central Avenue. Performers and speakers to visit the opera house included Harry Houdini, William Jennings Bryan and Carrie Nation among others. The last performance at the opera house in 1932 and the building was razed in 1954.
This original antique program is fully complete and intact with light handling wear and some toning from age. The program was folded slightly off center. Overall condition is very good. Email any questions. Thanks for looking.
