You're buying the super cool doggy bookends that you see. One of them was dropped it appears at one point - there's a crack on his chest and a very small hairline crack going across his face/eye. The good news is that the cracks aren't really obvious unless you're looking at it closely and they both sit nice and FLAT!
They are not magnetic. They are both hollow. I really am not sure if they're brass or bronze? They have plenty of patina - I absolutely did not polish or clean these in any way - I dusted them off, but that's about it.
