Original factory Honda fuel tank finished in the highly desirable Pearl Altair White color scheme used on the final-generation CBX1000 models. This is a genuine OEM tank from Honda's legendary six-cylinder superbike and an increasingly difficult piece to find, especially in original paint. The CBX remains one of the most iconic motorcycles ever produced, and surviving factory bodywork has become scarce as more bikes undergo high-end restorations around the world.

What makes this tank especially desirable is that it remains in its original factory finish rather than being stripped, repainted, or restored. The original graphics retain excellent color and presentation, giving the tank the authentic look and character that serious collectors and restorers are always chasing. Clean, usable CBX tanks are getting harder to source every year, and finding an original-paint example that is structurally sound, highly presentable, and ready to mount is becoming exceptionally uncommon.

This tank came from a longtime CBX enthusiast who owned multiple CBX motorcycles and maintained them to a very high standard. While I have not personally installed or pressure-tested this tank and therefore cannot guarantee that it currently holds fuel, I would not expect a known bad tank to have been kept alongside a collection of well-cared-for machines. As always, buyers should inspect and test any vintage fuel tank prior to use.

CONDITION:

Very nice original survivor condition overall. The factory paint and graphics remain bright, vibrant, and highly displayable with excellent color retention throughout. There is some light surface rust, paint bubbling, and chipping along portions of the lower seam area, particularly on the lower left side of the tank. Importantly, the affected area does not appear rusted through and remains structurally solid from visual inspection. A small minor indentation or paint imperfection is present on the body. The underside is exceptionally clean and appears to retain its original factory finish with solid seams, clean mounting brackets, and no obvious signs of major repairs. The interior shows only light storage oxidation and is considerably cleaner than most original CBX tanks encountered today. Overall, this is a rare, highly presentable original-paint tank that appears to be an excellent candidate for preservation, installation, or restoration.
