Outstanding vintage Native American sterling silver belt buckle featuring intricate Zuni-style mosaic and channel inlay. The highly geometric design is assembled from turquoise, red coral or shell, iridescent mother-of-pearl, black jet or onyx, and yellow-toned shell, all precisely cut and fitted into a bold symmetrical pattern.

The buckle is signed WB and marked STERLING on the reverse. Published hallmark references associate a WB mark with Zuni mosaic jewelry, although the maker’s full identity remains undocumented; the initials should therefore not be assigned to a particular artist without further provenance. The exacting stonework and balanced geometric composition are characteristic of the Zuni Pueblo inlay tradition.

The buckle measures approximately 3.4 inches wide by 2½ inches tall, based on the photographed one-inch grid, and has a hinged keeper and hook-style fastening. It is paired with a substantial reddish-brown floral-carved leather belt marked:

VOGT – Top Grain Leather – Fully Handmade in Old Mexico – Size 44

The belt shows normal vintage wear, surface creasing and darkening. The sterling reverse has scratches, tarnish and natural patina from use. The inlay has light surface wear and fine scratches visible under close inspection. Please examine all photographs carefully for the precise condition.
