Another item from Country Artifacts, Great Northern Liquidation, Springfield, Vermont.
  • Model 317 wall phone in a P-type oak cabinet as shown.
  • Please see the pictures for completeness (it looks pretty complete to me, but maybe you can see if something is missing). 
  • We found it in an attic with some of its parts packed inside in newspaper from the 1970's.
  • It has dust on the top parts from sitting in the attic for 50 years, and it has normal signs of age, previous use and storage as shown.
  • I didn't test anything and I don't know if anything works or not, but I expect that it will need some sort of servicing, replacement or extra parts if you plan to use it in any way, so it's sold as-is for display.
  • I didn't see any damaged parts.
  • The transmitter has a tag that is somewhat hard to read (I made a clean spot around the tag as I rubbed it), but I think it says Western Electric 337 and the patent date looks like 1915.  I'm not sure if those numbers are accurate though.
  • I didn't see any model numbers on the receiver.  
  • 317P is marked at the top of the cabinet interior, and 317 is on the top of the wiring diagram on the inside cover.  Research says the 317 was introduced in 1907 and was in common use for the next 30 years or so.
  • We will remove and pack inside various projecting parts to protect them from shipping damage.

We appreciate your business. Our Standard Shipping method is our choice of USPS, FedEx or Motor Freight. Unfortunately, because we have very limited space, we cannot store your purchased items for you. For local pickup, we can hold your item for two weeks (or as agreed upon beforehand in writing) from the purchase date, after which we have to charge storage, up to $10 per day, depending on the situation. Once storage fees exceed any moneys paid, we will have to relist the item without refund.
