Vintage 1977 Timex Marlin 35mm Mechanical Hand-Wind Gold-Tone Champagne Dial

Specs

Description

The Marlin remains one of Timex's most enduring designs, and this 1977 example captures the clean, mid-century dress aesthetic that made the line a favorite. A warm champagne dial pairs with applied gold-tone baton markers and a slim center seconds hand, framed by a domed acrylic crystal that gives the watch its characteristic vintage glow. At 35 mm it wears comfortably and reads as a versatile everyday or occasion piece, slipping easily under a cuff. The hand-wound movement asks only for a daily wind, offering the tactile, mechanical experience that draws collectors to these originals. We note light plating wear at the case edges and lugs, a few faint dial marks under close light, and an aged leather strap, all detailed in the photographs.

Condition

The gold-tone case presents well with light surface wear and minor plating loss at the edges and lugs. The acrylic crystal carries scratches typical of use, and the champagne dial shows a few faint marks and light scratches near the markers when viewed under close light. The leather strap remains intact but shows cracking and age throughout. The watch is running at time of listing; long-term accuracy has not been observed or guaranteed. Wear consistent with age. Buyer should refer to photographs for condition.
