Awesome rare collection of original posters. These originals were used to make copies and distribute throughout Navy ships, shipyards, and bases.

The Origin of "Benny Suggs": The character's name is a deliberate, phonetic play on words for "Beneficial Suggestions." It was a mascot created for employee suggestion programs, most notably utilized heavily across U.S. Navy shipyards and internal military aviation maintenance campaigns during the mid-20th century.

Commercial Production: Posters like these were mass-produced for factories and military facilities by commercial lithography companies and workplace safety groups rather than individual art studios. Because they were created as corporate or government work-for-hire, individual commercial illustrators rarely signed their names to the plates.
