Rare opportunity to acquire the exceptionally rare Lunar Models USA 2001: A Space Odyssey Orion III Pan Am Clipper resin model kit. Produced in a very limited run during the early 1990s, this impressive 1/72 scale model measures approximately 24” / 61cm in length and was only available for a short period.

This is a highly accurate and finely detailed kit featuring recessed panel lines, raised surface detailing, ultra-thin wings, and a one-piece fuselage design, eliminating the need to fill awkward centre seams. The kit is complete and includes nicely illustrated, detailed assembly instructions.

Unlike most Lunar Models releases, the box features full colour artwork. The instructions show decal placement, although Lunar Models confirmed at the time that decals were never supplied with the kit, which explains why none are shown on the box artwork. However, this example includes a rare set of Monogram Pan Am 747 decals in an appropriate size for the model.

Condition is very good overall. There is some minor damage to the interior box tray, neatly repaired, caused by the weight of the one-piece fuselage (over 1kg) during its original transit from the USA to the UK. These kits were extremely expensive and difficult to obtain even when new, and are now rarely seen for sale, particularly in this scale and condition.
