Large Mid-cent 1950-60 Gilded Black Enamel Sterling Silver Photo Locket
Pendant
This is a large sized locket pendant intended to be hung on a fine neck
chain. It is stamped 925 for its sterling silver fineness. The maker’s mark is the
elusive horse head and double scrolled A stamp; the nearest we have come to
identify it is that it possibly originates from Texas, USA. Nevertheless, we
think if dates to around the 1930s through 1950s.
The locket is a largish vertical oval with both covers being domed
shape. The front has a bas relief rococo pattern of an outer margin with
trailing flowers and an inner oval area with a double flower and leaf motif.
This is bright gilded with a black enamel ground. The rear is plain with a
smooth polished silver finish.
It is hinged and opens like a book. The covers are deep and intended to
hold images tucked into the raised inner frame of the front. There is a bale
and triangular jump ring at the top to thread onto a chain.

The locket is in excellent vintage condition, no issues, faults, or
damage to report, some light wear and rub to the rear with a lovely warm
patina. The images show the condition far better than we can detail, please
study these carefully; they are part of the description and condition report.
