DESCRIPTION:
Authentic painting, acrylic on canvas, of historical interest, a tragic composition from the German occupation of Greece in the period 1941-1944. The compoeition  It depicts, with symbolism, a scene of requisition,  that is, the violent confiscation of pigs, by the German occupiers in Greece, as beautifully painted by the Greek folk painter G. Kanda. The great requisition for animal, brought in Greece  the great deadly famine mainly of the elderly and children. It is signed in Greek, lower right.
Dimensions: Without the frame, 40 X 58.5 cm (or 15 6/8 X 23 in), with wooden frame, 52 X 72 cm (or 20 4/8 X 28 3/8 in) and weight 1,720 gr. It is in very good condition. From a smoke/pet free home. We do our best to describe everything thoroughly and accurately. We take detailed photos so you can see the full condition of the item. (remember that sometimes a picture can make items look worse than they actually are).
