A Good Antique / Vintage Chinese Red Lacquer Box

c. early 20th century.

This is 100% genuine vintage / old carved red lacquer (definitely not a cast or resin).

The allover design featuring scrolling Indian lotus motifs.
 The lid inset with a nicely carved bone cartouche of a female holding a ruyi scepter next to a gnarled prunus bough. 

There is a vacant shaped space to the left for another (missing) cartouche.....nonetheless this remains a charming old box.


Dimensions:

5.5 inches x 4 inches x 2 1/4 inches

Condition:

With a few condition issues, all as clearly shown. The one carving from the lid is missing. Cracks to all four corners of the lid, but holding together ok and structurally sound (the box is useable). A little chipping to the flange to the base. Surface wear. Please view all photos; the box has been photographed from every angle.
