DESCRRIPTION & COMMENTS
This 1953 Washington Quarter, graded PF 68 by NGC, is a near-perfect proof specimen from the Philadelphia Mint and a standout example of early 1950s numismatics. Struck from 90% silver and 10% copper, the coin weighs 6.25 grams with a 24.3 mm diameter and classic reeded edge. With a relatively low mintage of just 128,800, this coin sits among the upper echelon of survivors, with only 803 graded at PF 68 CAMEO and just 185 higher (235 including both Cameo and Ultra Cameo designations). The strike is exceptional, delivering razor-sharp design definition and ultra-crisp device elements that represent the series at its finest. Its mirrored proof surfaces are pristine, free of haze, milk spots, or any visual distractions—something rarely seen in early '50s proof coinage. This coin dazzles with original brilliance and a virtually untouched appearance that evokes the day it was minted over 70 years ago. We feel our offering is a very affordable item that allows the next owner to have a wonderful example of a near perfect mid-century modern well representative of America's first president!
