DESCRIPTION:
It is an original, beautiful and modern painting, relief acrilyc colors and watercolor on paper (mixed media), by the listed Greek/Russian painter Yanni Posnakoff, an of the best works of the artist, signed and dated 1972 lower right, under protective glass. It depict, a romantic couple sitting on a bench under the sun. Dimensions of the painting 62 X 46 cm (or 24 3/8 X 18 "), with wooden frame 82 X 66 cm (or 32 2/8 X 26") and weight 3,650 gr. Is in excellent condition.
A few words about the artist:
Yanni Posnakoff (1933-2021) was Greek/Russian,listed painter and events. He studied engineering and shipbuilding at the Graduate School of Naval Engineering (1949-1953), at Barkeley University of California (1954-1956) and continued on a scholarship to the Massachusetts (1956-1958) Institute of Technology from where he graduated in 1958 as a naval architect. In 1965, after having worked as a naval architect for seven years, he devoted himself entirely to painting. He attended classes at the New York School of Visual Arts and the Art Student's League of New York.With subtle design, sensitivity and childishness and a bright color scale, he painted his works which are inspired by motherhood, family life, children, modern history and the social problems, but his favorite subject was the angels. He has illustrated two books on the angels, Children's Letters to God (a best-seller which has been translated into seven languages) and Ask Your Angels (Balentine Press). Has designed and carried out events with the participation of children and adults. In 1988 he founded the Angel Gallery in New York City. He has presented his work in over thirty solo exhibitions in the USA and in Greece as well as in many group exhibitions. Artworks by Posnakoff are in the American College of Greece, Athens Museum of Modern Art,Thessaloniki and the Vorres Museum, Peania and in other private collections in Greece and abroad. Is listed in Directory of Greek Artists 19th - 20th century, Melissa edition, volume 4, pages 57- 58).
