Up for bid is an original division of Paphiopedilum Golden Arm 'Tropic Sun', from the cross of Paph. armeniacum x Eagle Peak (Eagle Peak 'Vista Del Monte', a complex orange, derived mostly from Hellas, used frequently by the Orchid Zone and then many Japanese growers) made by Fumi Sugiyama at Yamato-Noen in Japan in 2000. The color is just spectacular, a stunning butter yellow, just like armeniacum but huge! Shape is not bad either - there's an award in the future for this plant. Unlike many complex x parvi crosses, this blooms pretty regularly and easily as well. It's fantastic, and a fraction of the cost of more modern armeniacum x complex crosses. This should definitely get an award. This selection was made by Orchids Royale in Carpinteria, from flasks purchased from Yamato-Noen. Now that the collection at Orchids Royale is mostly gone, this is a rare chance to get a very special plant. It is recently divided, with good roots, and is in a 4" pot with three blooming-sized growths. Plant photographed on 6/9.
Shipped via USPS Priority Mail, in its pot. Please inquire about additional shipping options, combining shipping, or complimentary heat packs.
