Additionally, the engine features dual large vertical "maintenance free" can motors with fly wheels, detailed plastic shell, metal frame/ trucks/ railings/ details, engine speed "cruise" control, 8 wheel drive with 4 traction tires, directional headlights, operating front & rear electro-couplers (in cmd mode) and ProtoSounds to include diesel motor, horn, bell, freight PFAs & random freight dialog.  

***Note: Given the age of the original 3 volt re-chargeable battery pack I replaced it with a J&W BCR.  When initially powering up the engine for an operating session you will notice the sound volume decrease for ~20 seconds while the BCR charges. Once charged, the volume returns to normal and it should be good for the entire day.  The BCR should never go bad and no more worries about a battery pack going bad!***

The engine can operate on any 3-rail O/027 gauge track system and O-27 or larger curves.  

***Note:  In conventional control mode the electro-couplers will function as a "fixed" couplers and transformer (or separate) Whistle/Horn and Bell controls are required to activate the Horn, Bell & PFA sounds.   No controls are required for the diesel engine sounds & random dialog.***

I lubed the rollers & gears, replaced the battery pack with a BCR and then briefly tested this engine on my layout and the motors, lights, conventional control functions, DCS functions and sounds all worked great!  

***Note:  This engine is set to ID "1" and confirmed to work with the MTH 50-1033 DCS Remote Commander***

This engine comes with the original box, foam inserts, snow plow, spare tires & MTH set instructions and I will wrap & pack with care prior to shipment.
