Up for auction we have ProCo
‘Rat’ distortion pedal. During the Covid years, I sat at home and
bought loads of guitar gear for something to do. I went a bit crazy with buying
so will be selling off several guitars and pedals in the near future.
If you are looking at this you probably know what it
is; if not, there are loads of reviews and demos on t’internet.
I copied this down because it describes the controls
better than I could do. The RAT features a distinctive, three-knob layout:
·
Distortion:
Sets the amount of gain. Keep it low for a light, punchy overdrive, or crank it
to the max for a chunky, "faux-fuzz" texture.
·
Volume:
Controls the overall output of the pedal.
·
Filter:
This is the RAT's secret weapon, but it operates backwards from most pedals.
Turning it counter-clockwise allows more high-end through for a
brighter, cutting tone, while turning it clockwise rolls off brittle
highs for a smoother, darker sound.
Very simple, but giving a very wide range of tones. This
is one of these pedals for playing loud.
Bought this and my Boss Metal Zone because I wanted
something much more ‘metal’ than my Boss Blues Driver and Ibanez Tube Screamer.
This does the trick, but I’m less ‘metal’ now.
Very good cosmetic and working condition. In original
box but no original manual.
Works from a 9v power supply or 9v battery – neither included. The battery slips in underneath with a cover that is undone by unscrewing a bolt by hand – simplicity itself.
Built like a tank to withstand any hard use you can apply.
Weight ~680g.
Difficult to know what else to say about it.
Happy bidding.
