Fine Pair Arthur Stone Sterling Silver Pedestal Bowls Dated 1911
Presented is a fine quality pair of handmade and hand hammered sterling silver pedestal form bowls. This pair was made in the workshops of Arthur Stone in Gardner Massachusetts. The top of the bowl has a heavy applied band and the base has a similar band.
Everything is sterling silver. Both pieces are hallmarked on the underside with one of Arthur Stone's earlier hallmarks. There is also the letter O for the individual craftsman Clinton Ogilvie. Ogilvie worked for Stone from 1907 to 1911.
There is no monogram and no monogram removal. However there is a date, 1911, engraved on the side of each bowl. Undoubtedly the year these bowls were made or presented.
The total weight for both bowls is 294 grams or 10.4 ounces.
The height for each bowl is 2 3/4 inches. The diameter of the base is 2 1/4 inches. The diameter at the top is 4 1/4 inches.
The condition is excellent. Only the most minor of surface wear, to be expected from age and light use. There are no breaks, no repairs, no monogram removals, and no problems.
