Rare vintage 12-inch acetate (lacquer) test disc featuring two Columbia swing-era bandleaders:
• Side A (W26498-A): Frankie Masters and His Orchestra – Say It
Recorded February 9, 1940.
• Side B (WCO26422-A): Eddy Duchin and His Orchestra – A Little Boy and a Little Girl
Recorded January 17, 1940.
Condition:
• Graded VG (Very Good) — surface wear, scuffs, and light marks expected of acetates, but grooves remain strong. Labels intact.
• Plays through with typical acetate surface noise.
Collector Note:
Columbia acetates like this were one-of-a-kind studio artifacts, never commercially released. They were often cut for bandleaders, producers, or engineers as working copies. Very few survive 85 years later, making this a scarce opportunity for collectors of swing, early Columbia recordings, or acetate pressings.
