The hat has diamond shapes made from fine (woven straw?) appliqued onto the silk. The Brim of the hat too is made from this

Condition;

The Plume of feathers is good. 

The silk part of the hat needs to be repaired as there is a large area of splitting close to the crown and some other areas where the silk is 'shot' 

The 'diamond' panels and brim seem sound

The lining and inside of the hat needs a few repairs for wear

The brim interior measures 22 1/2 inches
