A true "Time Capsule" find for the serious vintage audiophile.

A bit of history : Released in the mid-1970s to celebrate Dual's 75th anniversary, the 1249 is widely considered one of the finest belt-drive turntables the German company ever produced. What makes this specific listing incredibly rare is the level of preservation. Vintage turntables are notoriously difficult to ship safely without breaking the tonearm or suspension. This unit comes with its complete original factory packaging and styrofoam, completely eliminating that risk.

This is a fabulous, turn-key package. It includes all the individual inner boxes: the Noresco B-20 walnut base box and the United Audio DC-6 dust cover box, all housed inside the main MOD-49 master carton. The paperwork, manuals, and registration card all feature the matching serial number (085523). To crown this masterpiece, the tonearm is fitted with the legendary Shure V15 Type III cartridge, an absolute "holy grail" for moving-magnet (MM) cartridge collectors. Tested and working flawlessly, this is a ready-to-play museum piece.

  • Functionality: The turntable spins quietly and accurately. The automatic functions work as intended. Ready to play!
  • Cosmetics: The wood cabinet is excellent. The smoked dust cover is very nice with strong hinges and no cracks, showing only light surface scratches from normal dusting.
  • Missing Item: Please note the 45 RPM center adapter is NOT included.
  • Packaging: The inner boxes and styrofoam are in good shape. The main outer shipping box shows heavy wear and tears but will fulfill its duty to protect the unit during shipping to you.
