A bit of history & design : Dating back to the 1910s and 1920s, the "Tudor Revival" and Gothic interior design movements were incredibly popular in North American heritage homes. Lighting fixtures from this era are characterized by heavy cast metal constructions, intricate romantic scrollwork, and a dark, moody bronze or copper patina that gave rooms a feeling of medieval elegance.

This striking hanging pendant light is a complete, original survivor from that era. Weighing nearly 6 pounds, the sturdy cast metal frame and matching ceiling canopy display an absolutely stunning, untouched antique patina. The metalwork acts as a cradle for a gorgeous 6.5-inch inverted dome shade. This shade is made of highly desirable "Custard Glass" (a creamy, slightly yellowish opaque glass) accented with a clear, ribbed scalloped rim and painted scroll motifs. It is the perfect historical statement piece for an older home restoration.

  • The Glass: As noted, there is a visible chip on the upper rim of the glass bowl. It does not affect the structural integrity and is largely obscured by the metal frame when displayed.
  • ⚠️ Electrical Warning: The fixture retains its 100-year-old original cloth wiring. While it appears physically intact, we strictly sell antique lighting as decorative pieces requiring professional inspection. The buyer must have the fixture checked or re-wired by a qualified electrician prior to ceiling installation for safety.
