Starter motor installation instructions：
Pre-Replacement Preparation
- Safety Protection: Wear insulating gloves and safety goggles. Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and place wheel chocks. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and let it sit for 10 minutes to discharge.
- Tool Preparation: Essential tools: socket wrench (10-14mm), torque wrench, screwdriver, ratchet wrench, pulley holding tool. Auxiliary tools: cleaning cloth, rust penetrant, battery jumper cables (optional).
- Accessory Verification: Confirm the new starter matches the model (power, mounting holes, terminals). Ensure smooth gear travel and oxidation-free terminals.
Removal of the Old Starter
- Locating & Cleaning: Find the starter at the engine-transmission junction. Remove the air intake hose/guard if needed and clean surface oil.?
- Disconnect Wiring: Remove terminal nuts (distinguish "B+" and control wires), mark positions, and pull out connectors without yanking wires.?
- Remove Mounting Bolts: Use a socket wrench to remove 2-3 symmetric bolts (spray rust penetrant on corroded bolts and let sit for 5 minutes). Support the starter by hand to prevent falling.?
- Extract Old Starter: Pull out slowly, avoiding pulleys and oil pipes. Check the mounting surface for damage or leakage.
Installation of the New Starter
- Clean Mounting Surface: Wipe the engine-side mounting seat to remove oil and rust; replace the gasket if necessary.?
- Position & Secure: Align with mounting holes, hand-tighten bolts initially, and ensure alignment with the flywheel ring gear (no jamming).?
- Tighten & Wire Connection: Tighten bolts symmetrically to 25-35N·m torque. Connect the "B+" terminal and control wires, then tighten nuts (conductive paste optional).?
- Reconnect Battery: After confirming secure connections, reconnect the negative battery terminal and tighten.
Post-Installation Verification
- Preliminary Test: Start the engine, check for smooth operation, no abnormal noise, and quick startup response.?
- Operating Check: Ensure no overheating at wiring connections and no interference during engine operation. Restart 2-3 times to verify stability.?
- Finalization: Reinstall removed guards/hoses, clean tools and the engine compartment, and confirm successful replacement.
