These pieces have not been washed so will have age soil however due to being kept in their wrappers they look remarkably clean. You can wash them but they have to be washed with extreem care using suitable vintage detergents. The stays are covered in cardboard so if they are soaked this will bleed into the fabric so care must be taken to wash briefly.

Girdle sizing:
Vintage girdles and corsets not only look good on their own in the bedroom but also allow vintage clothes to look their best when worn. An added benefit is you will find you have improved posture helping you to sit and stand straighter which in turn makes you look better. Think of the Hollywood actresses who hold themselves erect, it gives them an instant confidence and appeal . Vintage underwear can be worn for any occasion or on a daily basis and will particularly make you feel the part if attending a revival festival or costume party.

It’s important to select a girdle that fits well, there is no point buying one too small that is too uncomfortable to ever want to wear. Choose between 1 and 3” smaller than your natural waist and hip size. Length wise the girdle should hit below the fullest part of your thigh. Remember it will take some time getting used to them so as with any waist training item or corset it is best to build up slowly.

Always hand wash and dry flat to prolong its life. Boned items should be rolled so as not to kink the boning. Wearing a slip over a laced girdle with suspenders is recommended as it protects your garments from the metal fasteners and also smooth's out any bumps from seams or hooks and lacing.
