When I was rebuilding carbs I nearly always fitted new pilot jets - you will be surprised at the difference

You can chemically dip / ultrasonically clean your originals BUT a new set makes a massive difference - especially so as many get damaged upon removal 

These are left over new stock from my carb rebuilding days 😀
