A Stunning Pair of Vintage US Rubber Company Overshoes

Model: 'The Emperor'.

1943 Vintage.

Super rare - especially in this condition.

Each boot is fully stamped to the inside shaft and reads:

A simply awesome pair of overshoes or arctic boots from the historic USA rubber conglomerate 'US Rubber Co' (latterly Uniroyle).

These stunning overshoes feature black canvas uppers welded to gloss black rubber bases, with a storm-proof, sealed tongue and a bank of four fully adjustable steel buckles.

This is the cleanest pair of these now rare boots that I've encountered - hard to find in such nice condition.

Provenance:

These boots have come from the same collection as the Ice Skate boots I'm selling (ie a very notable English country Estate and formally with a prominent, titled, British aristocratic family).

Dimensions:

Size Unknown. The soles are moulded with what looks like 'GR-5' or possibly GR-S'..... but no guarantees at all on sizing or fit as these are being sold purely as display / collectors items only. I have however added photos showing the approx external measurements.

Condition:

The boots have seen a light - moderate use but can be considered to be in outstanding condition for age and of collector quality. 
With some surface marking and light discolouration to the black canvas outers as shown. Internally they are uncleaned with a little wear and dirt accumulation - all consistent with careful use.
The wear to the soles is as clearly pictured, with the diamond tread intact, except for the rear of the heels where they have worn a little flat. The upper shafts marked in ink with an anonymous number. 

All in all a beautiful and rare pair - possibly one of the best worn pairs from the 1940's currently available in the market.
