The circular dial is signed Negretti & Zambra London and marked “For Direct Reading Compensated”, with altitude scale reading to approximately 10,000 feet. The instrument is set within a brass case with suspension ring, and was likely intended for travel, mountaineering, surveying or scientific field use.
Negretti & Zambra were one of the most respected London makers of scientific and meteorological instruments during the 19th and early 20th century.
Presented in charming original condition with age related patina, dial toning and wear to the fitted case. Serial numbered 17090.
