Publisher: Prestel
Edition: First Edition, 2022. 256 pages.

Book measures 9.75 x 11.5 inches. Edited by Winfried Nerdinger and Wilhelm Vossenkuhl. Otl Aicher was one of the most important and influential designers of the post-war era. He gained worldwide fame through the all-encompassing visual design he developed for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. The pictograms designed for the Games led to the creation of a visual language which is still used today in public spaces the world over. As co-founder, lecturer and rector of the legendary Ulm School of Design, he influenced several generations of international designers. Throughout his life, he fought passionately for a more open, free and democratic society.

Otl Aicher, the man and his work, has many facets. Through the texts of renowned experts, former colleagues and friends, this comprehensive and generously illustrated publication sheds light on the thinker, social critic, teacher, photographer, architect, typographer and designer who ranks amongst the most fascinating and innovative figures of the 20th century.
