Antique Wooden Shaker Box
A small rectangular-shaped box made of mixed wood in different shades of brown.
It dates back to the 1800s.
Acquired long ago, right in my own hometown which used to be home to a Shaker Society in upstate New York.
Has additional items inside the box like a 2" miniature round wooden shaker box. - Not sure of the pink substance inside.
And 2 cardboard Shaker Society candy boxes (not as old as the Shaker box) from Maine and a Corbett's Shaker Medicated Lozenge empty cardboard box.
When you lift the top there is a removable tray with smaller compartments, two with the original tops and original pin cushion section.
Mirror on the top of box.
Looks like one of the hinges was repaired years ago, (see last picture). Can't tell by looking at the back of the outside of box.
Original key is not included.
Measures approximately 11" X 8" X 3.5"
Is a unique and original antique piece.
Perfect addition to any collection of primitives or antiques.
In good condition, particularly for age, has been kissed by time, and does have a few scratches which adds to it's character.
Kept with care in a smoke-free home.
Many thanks!
