Vintage Chinese hanging scroll featuring a powerful black horse
rendered in expressive ink wash brushwork. The piece appears to be hand-painted
and includes traditional calligraphy inscription along with a red artist
seal/chop mark.
The scroll measures approximately 5 feet long and is mounted in
the traditional hanging format with wooden dowels/rollers. The title strip
appears to translate roughly to “Fine Horse” or “Noble Horse Painting.”
This piece was likely produced during the mid-to-late 20th
century and has a great traditional Asian decorative look.
