Longaberger 2004 Medium Boardwalk Basket Purse Tote, incert, Liner.  The bag is perfect for a sprong or Summer day.

Measures 12.5L 6.75W 8H. No flaws. Basket is in excellent condition, the fabric liner in the Indigo Blue is new and the plastic protector is also in good condition. There is a small mark on the side shown in picture.

No color weave or trim. Brass tacks and rivets. 1/2 inch symmetrical weave. Two rolled leather handles.

Fifth year for series. New "symmetrical weave" style features weaving and upsplints of the same size for flexibility. Rolled leather handles are stitched with flexible tubing inside for added stability and attached with brass rivets. Solid brass tacks used on trim band and bottom reinforcements. The symmetrical weave and use of solid brass tacks are both first time that these unique features have been used.

The Longaberger Company, Dresden Ohio, created handwoven baskets out of hardwood maple sourced from the US, pottery, hand-forged wrought iron and other items for over forty years, from 1973 to 2018.  The company reopened in 2019 with artisans still located in Dresden Ohio who create baskets just as they had for a century before. Longaberger baskets are handwoven baskets and initialed by the artisan who created them. At the height of the company's popularity there were over 4,000 weavers and over 70,000 home consultants.
