'Made in Great Britain (usually described as Made in England) Happynak By Permission of Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Ltd.' A good size at 7 inch high, base to top rim, by 8inch wide. Stamped British Made on the base, which is different to other Happynak pails which have an animal stamped with Made in England or are plain..It also has a significant splayed base or foot for improved stability which is made from a separate piece of metal and which appears to be crimped over in joining the base to the sides of the bucket.
Condition as shown but scarcity and size are it's main features. Must be one of the earliest made - the embossing and separate foot piece probably disappearing on later manufactured sand pails, due their expense in the economic depression of the 30s. The embossing might also have been difficult judging by the fact that it is significantly out of register with the printed image. (In actual fact, at a quick search through several thousand images, this appears to be the only Happynak tin toy which uses embossing. So very likely the experience of producing this one, with it's embossed image out of register with the printing was deemed a failure and so embossing not being used on its subsequent production of toys; making this one all the more scarce.
