This is physical electronics repair only. This service does not include custom firmware, jailbreaks, modchips, boot discs, copied games, downloaded games, backup/import gameplay support, piracy tools, region bypassing, DRM bypassing, firmware or system software modification, copyright bypassing, or instructions for circumventing copy protection.

No heat gun patches. No temporary quick fixes. No shortcuts.

⚠️ Board Condition Note

If the original board is warped, delaminated, physically damaged, previously overheated, liquid damaged, missing required hardware, previously modified, or not economically repairable, the job may be declined or converted to a replacement-board/build option with customer approval.

This service may include RSX/GPU replacement depending on console condition, board revision, parts availability, and selected repair option.

65nm RSX: approximately 1.05V
40nm RSX: approximately 0.95V

This is a physical hardware configuration service intended to reduce unnecessary heat, lower rail stress, and support long-term reliability.

This is not a software modification, firmware modification, jailbreak, or copyright bypass service.

Warranty note:

Voltage configuration is optional for basic operation, but it is required for the 6-month warranty when a 65nm or 40nm RSX replacement is selected.

If voltage configuration is declined, the console may still operate, but the RSX replacement will not qualify for the 6-month RSX-related warranty because the replacement RSX is not being configured to its intended operating range.

🔋 NEC/TOKIN Replacement Option

This option replaces aging NEC/TOKIN capacitor banks with custom low-ESR replacement boards. This option covers the NEC/TOKIN locations included in the selected service option.

Each replacement board includes:

💿 Blu-ray Drive Service

The Frankenstein RSX service does not automatically include Blu-ray drive repair or replacement.

Every console is tested after the RSX repair, including basic disc detection and gameplay testing when possible. If the Blu-ray drive has an issue and this option was selected, we will service the Blu-ray drive as needed.

Blu-ray drive service may include:

Laser replacement
Tray or deck mechanism replacement
Ribbon cable inspection
Cleaning and basic drive operation testing
Inspection for weak loading, bad detection, or disc read issues

Note: The Blu-ray daughterboard must match the console. If the console has a missing, damaged, incorrect, or previously swapped daughterboard, additional work may be required and will be discussed before any added cost.

🌡️ Thermal Service

Thermal service includes replacing thermal pads and servicing heat-transfer areas as appropriate. CPU delid may be performed when appropriate.

RSX delid policy:

65nm RSX may be delidded when appropriate
40nm RSX is not delidded due to factory adhesive and high risk of die damage

We do not take unnecessary risks with rare hardware.

🧼 Cleaning Service

After major board-level work, the motherboard may be cleaned using an ultrasonic cleaning process. This helps remove flux, residue, and contamination from rework areas and leaves the board clean and professionally finished.

❄️ Cooling And Power Service Options

Available physical hardware service options may include:

APS-226 power supply replacement - APS-231 Required Cell under volt and is Included in APS-231 cost
