It was the only season of the New York Nets in the NBA. They had previously been the New York Nets in the ABA, and this was their initial season in the NBA. They moved to New Jersey for the next season, playing at the RAC (Rutgers), the Meadowlands, and eventually Newark in New Jersey before finally moving back to New York, though taking the Brooklyn name.
