Player Notes: I know it is just my subjective opinion, but what I saw in the 2024/25 NBA season was a glimpse of the next generation of superstar. I felt like Jalen Williams made the leap for example. I think Amen Thompson, Stephon Castle and Josh Giddey are ready to be next. I also look at the Spurs lineup with Wemby, Fox, Castle and Harper, and I feel like it might be the best youth movement in the league- certainly a playoff team. Castle put up 14 points and 4 assists per game, made the All Rookie team and won Rookie of the Year. Not bad at all. But if you look at how he finished the season, he was better than the numbers. His growth and maturity were off the charts. Now.. did I think he would leap up to 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists per game, in year two, at age 21? Not necessarily… but is it surprising? Not really.. he is that good.. Spurs fans need to keep their popcorn ready, because with Castle rising and Wemby healthy, the future is actually now.
