Both pieces are signed. Woman is in perfect condition. Man is missing the point on the right side of his hat, see last two photos.

Each has a hole in the back for hanging on a wall, as art.  The surfaces have been hand-painted with many colors of glaze, and fired leaving a fine semi-gloss finish. These pieces are very expressionist in style and I have read that the maker, Aldo Rossi, is well-known in Italy for keeping alive the old Venetian tradition of pottery and sculpture.
