This is a lot of THREE antique American books about Napoleon published in 1827 (nearly TWO HUNDRED years ago!). THE LIFE OF NAPOLEON BUONAPARTE, Emperor of the French was printed in three volumes by Carey, Lea & Carey in Philadelphia just six years after the death of Napoleon at age 51 on the island of St. Helena, where he had been in exile since 1815.

Written by Sir Walter Scott (The Author of Waverly), the books analyze Napoleon’s rise, military genius, and ultimate downfall, featuring a preliminary view of the French Revolution.

VOLUME I of THE LIFE OF NAPOLEON BUONAPARTE has 316 pages, VOLUME II has 400 pages, VOLUME III has 364 pages plus the Appendix of LXIX pages for a total of 1080 pages. They weigh 4 pounds, 11 ounces.
